The
Order of Appearance in Civilization - Civic Lesson
This
is not quite a photo blog post, but somewhat like it. If you chose to go
through the text and take even a scarping glance at the photos, you would bang
your head against a wall. You have been warned.
The
photos here give the order mentioned in the title. The order would become clear
by the time a reader reaches the end. But, before that let me refer to the
rules for parking in India.
In India, when parking a vehicle, you
must not park on main roads with heavy traffic, near intersections, pedestrian
crossings, bus stops, or on the wrong side of the road; always follow road signs and markings, and ensure your
parking does not obstruct other vehicles or cause inconvenience to other road
users; parking in designated "no-parking zones" is
prohibited; and you should park as far away from the edge of the footpath
as possible
The above is NOT the
official version as it seems to depend on the state (These laws are on the
state or the concurrent list, I couldn’t care less about anything else as I do
about this).
Read the last sentence.
What is possible is left to the driver to decide! It tells you to park as far
as the middle of the carriageway, “as far away from the edge of the footpath as
possible.” It says that the vehicle should not be parked, “on the wrong side of
the road.” Your vehicle, when parked, should not, “cause inconvenience to other
road users,” which, I suppose, includes pedestrians.
It is for you to decide,
after noting that the edge of the carriageway is marked by an unbroken white
line.

Rules and actual human behaviour have little in common in India.
Yes, and when that is relevant to muder why not to vehicle parking. I had to vent and I did because I find that in my evening walks I have to be extra careful because of such parking. When one's life is put in danger due to someone else's behavior, the venting takes on a different hue, more RED.
